If you choose the train, come by the Douro line (S. Bento or Campanhã) to Livração. From here to Amarante you will have to make the connection by private car or taxi.

The city of Amarante has a bus terminal and the operators are Rodonorte, Valpi, Transdev and Internorte.

During the day you will find taxis in the city center, especially in Largo do Conselheiro António Cândido and in Cândido dos Reis Street in front of the Solar de Magalhães.
